Manchester United to hold crisis talks with Cristiano Ronaldo over future – Man United News And Transfer News

After a tumultuous campaign, Cristiano Ronaldo could part ways with Manchester United in the January window.

Various sources have stated that the Portuguese talisman must sit down with Erik ten Hag to try to reach an agreement on the way forward.

The meeting is scheduled for tomorrow. According to The Mirror:

“The United players have had a free day today after the draw at Stamford Bridge, which means Ronaldo has to wait until tomorrow to find out his fate.

“The United manager wants to see a real repentance from Ronaldo for his conduct, before allowing him to resume training with the first team, having sent a strong message with his treatment of the club’s most outstanding player.

“Despite Ten Hag claiming he wants Ronaldo to stay at United for the rest of the season, it is understood that there is a willingness to allow the striker to leave in January, if a club can be found for him.

If Ronaldo stays, top-tier journalist David Ornstein has confirmed that Ten Hag will issue firm conditions that must be met, in particular that he accept his role on the bench.

The manager dropped Ronaldo from the team after the Red Devils defeated Spurs 2-0 in possibly his best performance of the season. He did not appear on the pitch against Tottenham.

Towards the end of the game, the attacker performed a strike. The strike led to him sitting out the match against Chelsea, which ended in a 1–1 draw.

Red Devils fans and probably Ronaldo’s teammates will be eagerly awaiting the outcome of today’s meeting.

No longer at the peak of his powers, but far from being a spent force, CR7 hopes to leave his footballing legacy on high.

A supporting role is a bitter pill to swallow for the aging superstar.

However, releasing Ronaldo is no small thing. His display of petulance may overshadow the goals he is capable of scoring.

Suitors willing to accommodate an astronomical salary bill and a strong personality that could upset team chemistry will be few and far between.

Time will tell.
