Two Spanish teams, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, are reportedly in a race to sign French midfielder Adrien Rabiot from Juventus on a free transfer.
After spending time in the academy at Creteil, Manchester City and Pau FC, Adrien Rabiot joined the academy at Paris Saint-Germain.
The midfielder soon graduated from Paris Saint-Germain’s youth setup and was promoted to the main team. he was then loaned out to Toulouse for more playing time. Rabiot returned from the successful loan and became one of the most important players in the PSG team.
The midfielder won eighteen major titles with PSG, including five Ligue 1 titles. Finally, in 2019, Adrien Rabiot joined Juventus on a free transfer. The midfielder has already represented France in international football. He was part of the French team that won the 2021 UEFA Nations League.
Two Spanish clubs will fight for the Juventus midfielder
Now, according to a report by Todofichajes, two Spanish giants, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot for free next season.
After a poor season last season, Barcelona have made a flurry of signings in the summer transfer window. They have had a good start to the season. But the Blaugrana leadership knows that their transition is not yet complete.
Therefore, they are looking to sign more players in the next window. However, Barcelona are in financial trouble, so they have decided to mainly look for players who can join them on a free transfer.
Adrien Rabiot’s contract with Juventus will expire next summer. Hence, the possibility of signing the midfielder is being studied. Barcelona tried to sign the French midfielder when he was at Paris Saint-Germain. However, the deal did not happen. Now they are looking to sign the midfielder once again.
His rival will be Atlético de Madrid. Atlético de Madrid signed Rodrigo de Paul in 2021. However, contrary to his performances in the national team, the Argentine has not been able to fulfill Atleti.
