Amad Diallo breaks his duck for Sunderland on loan – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United’s Amad Diallo has his name on the scoresheet for the first time this season when he scored the opening goal in Sunderland’s 2-4 loss to Burnley.

The 20-year-old was allowed to move down the right flank unmarked before clinically ending up in the nearest corner after sending the goalkeeper in the wrong direction with his eyes.

The goal marks a hopeful improvement in form after what has been a slow start for the youngster from Wearside.

However, it hasn’t been all bad, as trainer Tony Mowbray wanted to point out the Ivorian’s ability saying that “he has supreme talent. Seeing the touch from him and seeing how quick and direct he is, it’s a beautiful thing to see on the training ground.”

Mowbray will no doubt have been delighted by the goal as he pointed to Amad’s end product as the key to reaching its potential.

In his performance against Burnley, three media outlets gave Amad a 6/10 rating.

The Sunderland Echo said he “took his goal excellently and fought well but had very little impact in the second half as Burnley started to take control”.

SB Nation said he “took his first Sunderland goal very well, squandered a similar opportunity in the second half, but as usual his interaction outside the box is good, but he needs to be more aggressive in the box.”

Meanwhile, The ChronicleLive said he “scored Sunderland’s first and seemed a much better player operating in his natural wide role.”

The match was only his second start of the season, but he has featured regularly off the bench with 327 minutes played in nine appearances.
