Wrexham’s next FA Cup game to air in United States

The fairy tale story of the FA Cup Wrexham AFC is bringing its magic back to viewers in the United States.

An ESPN spokeswoman confirmed to World Soccer Talk that Wrexham’s next FA Cup match will be broadcast on ESPN+. Scheduled for Sunday, November 6 at 7:30am ET, Wrexham’s FA Cup first round match is against Oldham Athletic.

Wrexham’s next FA Cup game will be big for Hollywood stars

With Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney owning Wrexham AFC, interest in the Welsh club continues to grow at a dizzying pace. With the help of the hugely successful series Welcome to Wrexham which is available to binge on Hulu, more Americans are becoming fans of Wrexham AFC.

Wrexham Racecourse is the location of the FA Cup match against Oldham. If Wrexham can pull off a win, viewers of Welcome to Wrexham can imagine a packed The Turf Pub after the game.

As viewers of Welcome to Wrexham can attest, there will be a full house on Sunday at The Turf Pub outside the stadium. Wrexham fans and many Americans will be waiting for a post.

The Wrexham Family Opposition

After Wrexham eliminated Blyth Spartans from the FA Cup qualifying round, the fifth-tier club are all too familiar with Oldham, who are in the same division as Wrexham.

Given the growing popularity of Wrexham in the United States, it’s no surprise that Season 2 of Welcome to Wrexham has been given the green light.

If the Dragons beat Oldham on November 6, Wrexham’s gift will be an FA Cup second round tie on Thanksgiving weekend.

It is not until the Third Round of the FA Cup that non-league clubs get a chance to play teams in the Premier League and English Championship. But the Dragons still have a long way to go before they have a chance to start dreaming of killing the FA Cup giant.
