Allegri could find Kostic a new position following Chiesa’s return -Juvefc.com

Since the start of the season, Filip Kostic has been Juve’s last option on the left flank, with Federico Chiesa still recovering from an ACL injury sustained in January.

It took the Serb some time to adjust to his new surroundings, but he has shown better performances recently, providing his team-mates with his trademark assists.

But as Chiesa’s comeback draws ever closer, will the 29-year-old be reduced to a supporting role?

According to ilbianconero, this could not be the case, since the Juventus coach could put Kostic in a different position.

The source explains that Allegri could switch former Eintracht Frankfurt to the left-back role as he believes the latter has all the ingredients to become a capable full-back.

However, the change will not take place immediately, as the Serb will first have to adapt and learn the trade before being entrusted with the new role.

Juve FC says

Every coach aspires to find a formation that has the best players available at its disposal. So once Chiesa is back at full throttle, it would be unfair to drop the Kostic in form.

So a move to left-back would be a huge blow to all sides, at least in theory. Like Juan Cuadrado in the right wing, Kostic has played in all sorts of positions on the left flank throughout his career.

Thanks to his ability to quickly drop back and track down his marker, one could imagine that the ex-Stuttgart player should be able to replace the declining Alex Sandro at left-back, while providing plenty of support for Chiesa in the attacking phase.
