Two late goals gave Real Madrid all three points against Sevilla

Real Madrid, the defending La Liga champions, recorded another win by defeating Sevilla in their last game in the Spanish league.

Luka Modric, Lucas Vázquez and Federico Valverde scored for the Whites in the 3-1 victory. Erik Lamela saw the door for Sevilla.

Real Madrid came into the game having won nine of their first ten games in the league, including a Clasico victory over their arch-rivals. He faced a Sevilla that is not performing at its best, throughout the season. Real Madrid missed their captain and recent Ballon d’Or winner, Karim Benzema.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men started a 4-3-3. Thibaut Courtois made his first appearance since the Madrid derby. Ferland Mendy, David Alaba, Eder Militao and Daniel Caravajal played in defense for Real Madrid. Luka Modric, Aurelien Tchouameni and Toni Kroos were starters in midfield. Vinicius Junior and Federico Valverde played on the wings while Rodrygo was in charge of leading the lines.

The whites had a great start to the game. Croatian midfielder Luka Modric scored the opening goal in the first five minutes after taking advantage of a brilliant low cross from Vinicius Jr.

Madrid kept up the pressure on Sevilla throughout the first half, but Carlo Ancelotti’s side wasted many chances. As a result, they went into the break with just a 1-0 lead.

Then suddenly, after the restart, Sevilla scored the equalizer through Erik Lamela in the 54th minute. This brought the game to life. After conceding a goal, Madrid played their best game.

Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr. made another quick run before releasing Lucas Vazquez. Vázquez, known for his contribution from the bench, made no mistake finding the back of the net.

Uruguayan midfielder Valverde then scored Real Madrid’s third goal with a tremendous shot from the edge of the box.

The midfielder has been in great form lately. He has already scored six goals for Los Blancos in LaLiga and the rangers are becoming a great weapon in his arsenal.

The match ended 3-1 in favor of Carlo Ancelotti’s team. With this victory, they will remain at the top of LaLiga. Real Madrid currently have 31 points from eleven games and are six points clear of second-placed Barcelona. They will face RB Leipzing in their next match.

Meanwhile, after their defeat, Sevilla is now in fourteenth position in the table. They have won just two matches and have collected ten points so far. Sevilla will face FC Copenhagen in their next match.
