Liverpool’s Salah was horrifically poor

Several Liverpool players will have to take a hard look in the mirror after a dismal performance by the team (perhaps excluding Alisson Becker, James Milner and Harvey Elliott) in a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest.

Mo Salah’s stats of just two shots on target and four passes made (courtesy of SofaScore stats) were certainly far from what we’d expect from the £34m Roma signing who struggled to impact the game in any meaningful way.

The Merseysiders’ latest defeat leaves them struggling in seventh place after squandering an opportunity to close the gap to the top four.

It could be argued that the serve was far from effective for the Egyptian king who, along with Bobby Firmino, remained isolated at the top of the field.

Still, barring a clear goal scoring opportunity, where the afternoon sun caused our number 11 to miss his goal attempt after poor defense by the hosts, Salah had a far from memorable game.

We can appreciate that having the likes of Darwin Nunez and Thiago Alcantara available (excusing our other notable injuries to the squad) could have made the difference against Steve Cooper’s low blocking, but it’s disappointing to see key men in the first XI suffer.
