La Liga giants Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing French international Moussa Diaby from German club Bayer Leverkusen.
Moussa Diaby entered the Paris Saint-Germain academy at a very young age. He later graduated from the PSG academy and was promoted to the main team.
Shortly after his promotion, Diaby was loaned out to FC Crotone, where he spent the second half of the 2017-18 season. After the end of the loan agreement, Diaby returned to Paris.
He played one season for the French giants before joining German side Bayer Leverkusen on a five-year deal. In a matter of days, the winger became a very important member of the Leverkusen team. Diaby has also represented France and was a member of the French team that lifted the 2021 UEFA Nations League.
Moussa Diaby on the Real Madrid Radar
According to a report by Spanish outlet fichajes, La Liga giants Real Madrid are interested in signing Moussa Diaby from German team Bayer Leverkusen.
Real Madrid currently has one of the best squads in world football. However, they still have the aspiration to improve their squad and will see plenty of innings in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Spanish international Marco Asensio is expected to leave Los Blancos at the end of next season. Therefore, Madrid are looking to sign a winger before then.
Moussa Diaby, 23, is currently one of the highest rated youngsters in the world. He has already scored 39 goals and provided 41 assists for his current club, Bayer Leverkusen. Diaby is regarded as one of the German club’s best assets.
Diaby’s current contract with Bayer Leverkusen is due to end in 2025. But Leverkusen will reportedly sell the midfielder for a fee of €70m. This is within reach of Real Madrid, which is one of the most financially stable clubs in the world.
Newcastle’s growing interest
In addition to Madrid, Newcastle United of the English Premier League is also interested in the French winger. Under his new management, Newcastle wants to be one of the best clubs in the world. They have made top class signings like Alexander Isak, Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes in the recent past.
And now Diaby is one of his main goals to improve his squad. As in Madrid, the Magpies can also spend €70m for the winger. So Madrid will have to move fast if they want to sign the Frenchman.
Diaby is now expected to be part of the France squad that will take part in the upcoming World Cup in Qatar 2022. Any good performance in that event will only increase his actions.
