PIF to secure major off-field Newcastle agreement, ‘will get done’ – Journalist

Newcastle fan favorite Bruno Guimaraes is expected to sign a new contract with the club, according to transfer source Graeme Bailey.

Fabrizio Romano reported last week that Newcastle are ‘planning to offer’ the Brazilian a new contract with a salary increase as an important part of negotiations. The Italian journalist also claimed that the player is being monitored by some of the top clubs, including Real Madrid. However, the club’s director of football, Dan Ashworth, has stated that the player is not for sale.

And despite Madrid’s interest, Bailey believes the player is ‘happy’ at Newcastle, and the club are willing to offer him a ‘great deal’ that will put to rest the rumours. While discussing the Brazilian’s future in the latest episode of the Talking Transfers podcast, he said (30:00):

“So, yeah, it’s one where this will be done, guys, but I think it’s towards the end of the season. There is no rush, he is happy. They will update him if necessary, but yes, instead of leaving I think we will see Newcastle tie him up.

“And like I said, this is going to be a big deal because it will show that Newcastle really go to the next level.”

Will Bruno be offered a great new deal?
