Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier has praised Argentine superstar Lionel Messi as the greatest player of all time after his 3-0 win against Ajaccio last Friday.
PSG entered the match without the services of one of their key players, Neymar. But against a newly promoted team like Ajaccio, it wasn’t much of a problem for Cristophe Galtier’s side.
PSG went ahead in the 24th minute of the game. Lionel Messi found Kylian Mbappé with a perfect pass that the Frenchman beat the Ajaccio goalkeeper. The Parisians then couldn’t score any more goals in the first half and went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
Messi then scored the goal for PSG in the 78th minute after playing a clever one-two with Mbappé and getting around the Ajaccio goalkeeper. Shortly after, the Argentine found Mbappé again with another perfect centimeter that ended up being the third goal of the game. Ultimately, PSG came out with a 3-0 win in the Ligue 1 match.
Galtier praises Lionel Messi
After this match, Christophe Galtier lavished praise on Argentine superstar Lionel Messi for playing a brilliant game.
“People come to the stadium to see Leo play, he is the best player of all time. He likes to play with others. He has that quality of wanting to play with others, he is very altruistic and he was incredible in the second goal”, said the Paris Saint-Germain coach about Lionel Messi.
Lionel Messi joined PSG at the start of last season. He had a very tough first season with the French giants. Messi scored just six goals in the entire Ligue 1 season and also struggled with injury problems.
However, he did win the Ligue 1 trophy in his debut season. Messi was heavily criticized for his performance last season. At one point it seemed like the end of Lionel Messi.
But this time, things look different for him. With Christophe Galtier playing football again, we are used to seeing him play. Messi has already scored nine goals for PSG and has also produced ten assists so far.
Messi returned from a calf injury last week. So his performance against Ajaccio is a huge sigh of relief for PSG. they’ll expect him to continue in this form throughout the season.
Now this performance will also make the Argentine countryside very happy. Messi will direct the Argentine team at the 2022 Qatar World Cup. It will also be his last appearance at the perennial event.
So if he can lead Argentina to the World Cup trophy, he can surely be regarded as the greatest player of all time.
