Manchester United to battle Real Madrid and Man City for Alessandro Bastoni – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United have joined a battle with Real Madrid and Manchester City over Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni.

The Spanish medium, Registrages, describes Bastoni as Erik ten Hag’s “great obsession”.

And with the manager’s sporting project described as one that “excites everyone”, United may well have emerged as the ideal suitor.

Bastoni would offer Ten Hag another left-footed option in central defense, with only Lisandro Martinez meeting that criteria in his roster.

However, the report does not see Man United doing the deal this winter.

Bastoni is most likely an option for the summer, with fichajas claiming the player “could be one of Manchester United’s star signings for 2023/2024”.

While Martinez has been a revelation since joining the club this season, Bastoni could offer Ten Hag a chance to rotate.

You can even experiment a bit with different systems in certain games.

The Dutch manager has used the back three at some point in his career, but that opportunity has not been given to him at United due to a lack of depth in defence.

There is also Martinez’s versatility to consider, as the player played in midfield and at left-back earlier in his career.

However, United seem unlikely to spend too frivolously in a position where they appear to have found a quality solution.

So for a deal to be likely, Bastoni would have to be available at a decent price.

Given that the Inter defender’s contract expires in 2024, that could be the case. United Matchday Magazine – The Ultimate Match Experience Take your seat for the Chelsea match and stay on top of all things United!
