Chelsea Manager Graham Potter Reacts to Brentford Draw

Chelsea manager Graham Potter said a point was “fair” as the Blues shared points with Brentford after a goalless draw. Chelsea faced Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium in their previous league match and ended in a 0-0 draw.

The Stamford Bridge side dominated possession against Brentford but were unable to translate that into goals and victory. Potter’s men registered 14 shots, five of them on target. But none of them entered as Chelsea lost two important points.

Speaking after the match, Potter admitted that a draw was a fair result and said that Brentford made it difficult for the Blues to control the game.

“Fair Chelsea vs Brentford result,” says Blues manager Graham Potter

Potter said that one point was almost correct, while stating that they were the most likely team to score a goal towards the end of the match.

“I thought over the course of the game, one point was fair. They had opportunities, and we had opportunities. We pushed and pushed to the end,” Potter said. Probably, he is more likely to score late, but at the same time, in the course of the game, one point was correct. They make it very difficult to control. They do what they do very well.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea remain fourth in the Premier League points table. The Blues have 20 points from their first 10 games in the English top flight this season.

Chelsea are three points behind Tottenham Hotspur, who are in third place. Antonio Conte’s men have 23 points in 11 games, but have played one more game than Chelsea.

The West Londoners could have cut the gap to Tottenham to just one point if they had picked up a win over Brentford. Tottenham was defeated by Manchester United in their previous game. The Red Devils recorded a 2-0 win over the North London side.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are now seven points behind table leaders Arsenal. The Gunners have won 27 points from 10 league games so far this season.

Chelsea will face Manchester United in their next game in the Premier League. The Old Trafford team sits fifth in the points table, just behind Chelsea. Erik ten Hag’s men are just one point behind Chelsea. Chelsea will have a chance to establish a four-point lead over Man Utd when the two teams meet at Stamford Bridge.
