Lionel Messi to invest in Silicon Valley start-up

Argentine soccer player Lionel Messi is going to invest in sports, media and technology. For that, he has already created a new holding company called Play Time.

Just after the founding of the company, the Argentinian footballer issued a statement saying: “I am excited to extend our roots to Silicon Valley and I am delighted that Play Time collaborates with bold entrepreneurs from around the world.”

The statement further reads, “I hope that through its success, Play Time will help many people and have a positive impact on the world. I trust the team and our partners to achieve our goals.”

Messi is currently one of the biggest brands in the world. Sponsors have struggled over the years to sign the Argentine striker. He is now coming to the end of his football career. And before hanging up the boot, the Argentine decided to invest in other ways.

Messi’s company, Play Time, has revealed that it will also invest in AC Momento. AC moment is a football culture market where shirts used in matches by great players and clubs are auctioned. However, it is still unknown how much the company will invest in the future.
