Manchester United Manager Erik ten Hag Reacts to Cristiano Ronaldo Heading Down Tunnel Before Full-time

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has said he will deal with Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portuguese went into the tunnel before full time in the Red Devils’ win over Tottenham Hotspur. Man Utd hosted Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford in their previous Premier League game and secured a 2-0 victory over Spurs.

Ten Hag fielded a Man Utd starting XI that did not include Ronaldo, who was named on the bench. The Dutch strategist also left Ronaldo as an unused substitute as the Red Devils picked up three important points.

Ronaldo was seen walking down the touchline and tunnel towards the end of Man Utd’s match against Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking after the match, Ten Hag said that he will take care of Ronaldo the next day and emphasized that he wants to focus on his team.

“I don’t pay attention to that, I’ll deal with it tomorrow. I want to keep the focus on the team,” Ten Hag said at the post-match press conference.

Ten Hag also said that he was pleased with the Red Devils’ performance in their win over Spurs. The Dutchman said he was magnificent for the 11 players who made up the starting eleven and those who came on as substitutes.

Ten Hag added that it was a squad performance. “It was magnificent from all 11 players. I have to correct myself. It was also a performance of the substitutes who entered. Once again, it was a team performance. I think what we have seen is 11 players defending and 11 attacking. I was pleased,” added Ten Hag.

Man Utd are just one point behind fourth-placed Chelsea

They are now one point behind fourth-placed Chelsea, who dropped points after a goalless draw at Brentford. Victory over third-place Tottenham Hotspur also means Man Utd are just four points behind the North London outfit with a game in hand.

Against Tottenham, it was Fred and Bruno Fernandes who scored the goals for the Old Trafford side. After a goalless first half, Fred broke the tie in the 47th minute, via a deflected shot. Fernandes made it 2-0 in the 69th minute, courtesy of a curling iron after the ball fell perfectly for him to finish.

Meanwhile, Man Utd take on Chelsea in their next game. The Red Devils can move past the Blues to fourth place with a win.
