Liverpool have often been credited with flowing football that is beautiful to watch, although they have earned much criticism for their alleged inability to resort to the dark arts when required to take home the three points.
Virgil van Dijk showed that the Reds may now be more willing to adopt such tactics after @CF_Compss shared footage online which revealed the Dutchman apparently fixing the spot before Jarrod Bowen’s penalty.
It is unclear how much of an impact he had on the West Ham man’s later attempt, although he may have helped team-mate Alisson Becker in his efforts to keep the Merseysiders ahead.
