Joe and Avram Glazers feel Manchester United are ‘undervalued’ at the moment – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United fans currently have two wishes they want to see fulfilled in the near future: to see their club return to the top and to get rid of their owners, the Glazers.

Groups like The 1958 are trying to rally support and have successfully staged quite a few mass protests against the owners before home games so far.

Glaziers under pressure

The hope was that Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Britain’s richest man and a lifelong United fan, would come and rescue the club after failing to buy Chelsea.

Even Michael Knighton, who tried to buy the club in the 1980s, had also made public his desire to kick the Glazers out of the club.

But the chairman and chief executive of Ineos has since revealed that he had spoken to the American family and that they do not want to sell United and do not want to wait for the club to become available.

And now, financial guru Kieran Maguire has revealed that the drop in share price means the Glazers will wait for the price to at least double before even thinking of selling the club.

According to Maguire, when the Glazers were first listed on the Stock Exchange, the share price was $14. After Ratcliffe’s revelation, the price now stands at just under $13, with a market capitalization of $2.13bn (£1.9bn).

Joel and Avram Glazer feel that Manchester United are ‘underrated’ as a club at the moment and they don’t want to take a big hit to their expectations.

Glazers will wait for the share price to double

“I think it’s interesting that if you look at the markets since the Jim Ratcliffe interview broke, the share price has dropped back below $13.

“If you were encouraged by Ratcliffe’s comments, you would have expected the price to go up, but it hasn’t. I can’t see Glazer selling for less than $25 to $30 a share,” Maguire told Football Insider.

And that means fans should probably give up hope that Ratcliffe will go out and buy the club or at least a majority stake in the Glazers.

“It may not be the news United fans want to hear, but it looks like Ratcliffe will be looking elsewhere when it comes to football investment.

“They have pinned a lot of hopes on him but it is unlikely that it will be the Old Trafford team that will buy,” Maguire added.
