Jurgen Klopp gives honest verdict following Liverpool’s crucial win against West Ham

Jurgen Klopp honestly reflected on his side’s performance as Liverpool cruised to a crucial 1-0 victory against West Ham on Wednesday night.

After a disappointing start to the season for the Merseyside side, momentum is beginning to build again at Liverpool after two successive wins propelled them to seventh in the Premier League table.

Darwin Núñez headed his first goal at Anfield before half-time against West Ham, which was enough to secure all three points of the night for the club.

Alisson Becker was also a hero on the night after saving a penalty from the ever-threatening Jarrod Bowen, who fell in the box under a challenge from Liverpool’s Joe Gomez. After initially ruling out penalty claims, Stuart Attwell was told to check the VAR monitor which showed a replay of the foul, before blowing his whistle for a penalty.

Next up for Liverpool is a trip to the East Midlands to face Nottingham Forest in 19th place.

Klopp was impressed with Liverpool’s performance but wants more

After the match, Klopp told Prime Video: “We could have done better, but the result is outstanding. Very important, I love it. But yes, there are times when we have to force ourselves to play more football. Between the lines, they didn’t have a solution for us.”

And he added: “We scored a wonderful goal and Alli [Alisson] He doesn’t just set up goals or score them, he stops them.”
