Liverpool still ‘interested’ in Reds supporting Bundesliga midfielder who shares Keita’s agents – Christian Falk

Liverpool reportedly retain an interest in Konrad Laimer following a failed attempt to sign the midfielder in the previous summer window.

This comes courtesy of a tweet from Bundesliga pundit Christian Falk and the Merseysiders are said to have made some late efforts in the previous summer window to snap the man from RB Leipzig.

The Merseysiders had been interested in a younger option in Jude Bellingham, although Borussia Dortmund firmly turned them down in light of the loss of star striker Erling Haaland.

News that Bayern Munich are supposedly leading the way presents a bump in the road for Julian Ward and his recruiting team.

That said, our sporting director should take confidence in the fact that Laimer is a self-proclaimed Liverpool fan, telling Servus TV (via Bild): “In general, I’m a football fan. In general, I like to watch the Premier League.

“I’ve always been a Liverpool fan.”

That is far from providing a guarantee that the Austrian will swap the German top flight for the Premier League and choose a move to Anfield specifically.

However, it is a factor that will surely weigh in our favor if we seek to mount a second attempt for his signature; an option that will be hard to ignore if Leipzig fails to agree new terms.
