Chelsea set their sights on Dutch international in €40m deal

Chelsea have set their sights on Villarreal striker Arnaut Danjuma as Todd Boehly looks to continue spending money.

Danjuma has struggled with injuries so far this season but returned to Villarreal scoring a brace against Osasuna. The Dutchman played a pivotal role in Villarreal’s Champions League run last season.

Danjuma scored six times in the Champions League last season, as well as ten times in La Liga.

His performances have attracted the interest of clubs across Europe and, according to Transfers, Chelsea could snap up the winger in January for €40m.

With the likes of Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech having failed to impress at Chelsea so far in their careers, Graham Potter could be looking to bring in another versatile striker.

Chelsea’s three forwards are often fluid, so it can be useful to have a player capable of playing multiple positions in the front line. Danjuma has been a center forward and winger during his time in Spain, so it’s no surprise that Chelsea are showing interest in him.
