Calvin Ramsay marked an impressive return to competitive football with a late goal in Liverpool Under-21’s 3-2 loss to Accrington Stanley.
The Scottish prodigy pounced on a scramble from the opposition No1 and took his first shot off the near post as the Reds trailed 3-0.
Ben Doak got another consolation effort in extra time, though it wasn’t enough to turn the tide.
It’s a very promising sign from the former Aberdeen youngster who would likely have been in contention to replace first-choice Trent Alexander-Arnold of late had it not been for the discovery of an injury during his medical.
