Jurgen Klopp remains impressed with his potentially record-breaking signing Darwin Nunez, noting that the Uruguayan is improving with each training session.
The former hitman from Peñarol has endured strong criticism for his start in life in England despite accumulating five goalscoring contributions in 11 games (at the rate of a goal or assist every 103.2 minutes).
“I like its impact. He’s a machine, he’s incredibly strong physically,” the German told reporters before the clash with West Ham United.
“He gets there and the training gets better. Every day you can see how it fits more and more.
“He’s in the team now, mentally 100%, he really came through fully but of course he wants to score more goals and set up more goals.”
Ongoing comparisons with Nordic goal-machine Erling Haaland haven’t helped much for a player whose adaptation period was cut short by a three-game suspension.

It’s entirely his fault regarding his actions against Joachim Andersen during the draw with Crystal Palace, although there have been clear signs since then that our £64m striker is headed in the right direction.
Fingers will continue to point to a failure to square the ball to Mo Salah to help settle the contest with Manchester City at the weekend.
However, it would be foolish to ignore Nunez’s instinctive ability to fill the right spaces and make exactly the kind of runs into the box that are required of him.
