Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe was booed by PSG fans at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris.
After spending a fair amount of time in the AS Bondy academy, Kyllian Mbappe joined Monaco’s youth setup in 2013.
The striker then graduated from the Monaco academy and was soon promoted to the main team. He stepped into the spotlight after playing a pivotal role in Monaco’s last Ligue 1-winning campaign. The forward was regarded as one of the brightest young prospects in the world.
A transfer war broke out for him and, finally, it was the Ligue 1 giants, Paris Saint-Germain, who managed to sign him after paying 180 million euros to Monaco. The following year, he helped France win the FIFA World Cup. Mbappé scored a goal in the final against Croatia, becoming the first youngster since the great Pelé to do so. Everything was going in the right direction until something happened last season.
PSG fans booed Mbappé
When Mbappé entered the last year of his contract, many teams tried to sign him. The team that came closest was La Liga giants Real Madrid.
The Whites managed to reach an agreement with Mbappé and made a great offer for PSG. However, the French club rejected Real Madrid’s offer and decided to stay with him at all costs.
Then, earlier this summer, it was thought that Mbappé would join Real Madrid as a free player. But interestingly, the Frenchman decided to deviate from PSG and signed a huge contract renewal.
At the time, it seemed that this transfer saga had come to an end and there will be no drama about it. But soon, once again, all the drama was restarted.
At first, Mbappé had problems with Brazilian winger Neymar. And then recently it was reported that he wanted to move out of the club from next January.
In the midst of all this, Mbappé arrived at the 2022 Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris. Here the striker was booed a lot by the fans who are getting impatient with this whole saga of Mbappé.
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe himself has denied all rumors that he will leave PSG or even want to move from PSG.
“I never asked for my departure in January. I was just as surprised as everyone else,” Mbappe said.
He also said that he is very happy at PSG at the moment.
Although after his words there are still questions about his future in the Parc des Princes.
