Liverpool star undergoes surgery after recent injury

Liverpool attacking midfielder James Balagizi underwent successful surgery after sustaining a groin injury earlier this month.

This season, Liverpool have had a lot of trouble with injuries at multiple different positions. Right now, a defensive injury crisis is evident, with Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate out injured, with Trent Alexander-Arnold only recently fit enough to start on the bench at the weekend.

This led to James Milner being used in an unfamiliar right-back role against Premier League champions Manchester City, a match in which Liverpool were victorious.
