Di Canio says Juventus signed a midfielder with the wrong characteristicsJuvefc.com

Paolo Di Canio believes that Juventus bought poorly when they signed Leonardo Paredes in the last transfer window and explains why.

The Bianconeri have struggled this season, but the club invested in their squad in the summer to prevent it.

Paredes alongside Paul Pogba were the two main midfielders added to his squad, but so far only the Argentine has played for the club, with the Frenchman currently out injured.

Max Allegri made it seem like Paredes was the last piece of the puzzle when the Argentine joined the club, but he is struggling to get the best out of the former PSG player.

Di Canio believes the Argentine is simply not the midfielder Juve need at the moment.

He said via Tuttojuve:

“Paredes has a clean pass, but then the rest have to take care of the rest. It’s not Pjanic or Pirlo, Juventus needed another type of midfielder, with different characteristics from Paredes’.

Juve FC says

Paredes has not lived up to the expectations most fans had when he first moved to the club.

The Argentine has played for some good teams in Europe, but he is not showing what convinced us to add him to our squad so far, which means this transfer has been a bad one.
