Eric Bailly suffers injury while on loan at Olympique de Marseille – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United centre-back Eric Bailly appears to have suffered an injury setback while on loan in France with Olympique de Marseille.

The Ivorian international has enjoyed the start of his loan spell in Ligue 1, having made eight appearances in all competitions.

He has often taken risks with his new club, playing through a back three.

It was the first time the defender had played since September, but it did not go as planned as the substitution came before half-time.

According to GetFootballNewsFrance, Bailly walked off the pitch in the 44th minute of the match for Marseille with an apparent injury that added to his problems.

The centre-back does not have the best record when it comes to fitness after spending a large part of his Man United career injured.

Providing an update on the 28-year-old’s injury, manager Igor Tudor reveals that he does not know the outcome of the injury.

“For Eric, we will have to see how he feels in the next few days.”

Bailly initially joined the club on a one-year loan, but there is a good chance he will stay if the club qualify for the Champions League.

The club is currently in fourth place in the league following its loss to Paris Saint-Germain yesterday.

Journalist Nabil Djellit, who works for many French outlets, has provided an update on how Marseille feels about Bailly.

In a post on Twitter, he says: “Eric Bailly is one of OM’s top recruits. But just like Youcef Atal in Nice, he repeatedly gets injured.”

“This is a problem that we should try to solve.”

With the arrival of Lisandro Martinez during the summer transfer window, it appears that Bailly has little to no chance at United going forward.

Red Devils fans hope that the centre-back will definitely move to the French club.
