However, Pep Guardiola’s men have struggled to replicate their form in Europe, although admittedly they came close to breaking their Champions League duck with an appearance in the 2021 final.
The Spaniard is hoping his star signing Erling Haaland will make a difference in that regard and early indications would suggest the Norwegian has upgraded a world-class first XI.
