Bayern Munich news: Sadio Mane is currently among the best attackers in Europe.

The former Southampton attacker helped the Merseyside side claim six major trophies, including a Premier League title and a UEFA Champions League trophy. He shared the 2018-19 Premier League Golden Boot with Mohamed Salah and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang. The Senegal international was also included in the Premier League Team of the Season on four separate occasions.

The 30-year-old attacker left the Reds to join Bundesliga club Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window.

German writer Alex Steudel believes that Sadio Mane is causing an imbalance in the Bayern Munich team.

Steudel wrote in his column for Sport1 (via talkSPORT): “The man fits into the Bayern team like tofu into white sausage. Mane ruins everything. Sometimes he plays on the left and of all people he pushes Leroy Sane to the right. Sometimes he plays in the center of the attack, where he is hopelessly overwhelmed.”

Mane has been unable to replicate his Anfield form at the Allianz Arena. He has registered four goals in nine Bundesliga appearances so far.

Real Madrid interested in Alphonso Davies

According to Marca (h/t Sportskeeda), Real Madrid have shown interest in signing Bayern Munich defender Alphons Davies. However, the Canadian international has three years left on his contract with the German club, which could make things difficult for the Whites.

Davies is one of the most talented full-backs in the world. He has played 88 league games for the Bavarians so far, scoring five goals.

The 21-year-old defender helped the Munich team win four Bundesliga titles, among other honours. He won the 2019-20 Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award and was also included twice in the Bundesliga Team of the Season.

Real Madrid signed David Alaba last summer from the Bavarian team, who has done well since making the change. Carlo Ancelotti will be looking to replicate the trick next summer.

Whats Next?

Bayern Munich have struggled this season, managing to win just four of their first nine league games. They are currently fifth in the Bundesliga table, four points behind leaders Union Berlin. The Bavarians will face SC Freiburg in the league later today.
