(A score of 6 is around average)

Radek Vitek – 6 – Made some routine saves and couldn’t do much for the goals conceded.

Marc Jurado – 5.5 – He had a tough time defensively, especially scoring the far post on crosses that gave Chelsea the first. Offensively he didn’t make much progress until the final minutes where he provided the assist for the tie.

Tyler Fredricson – 6.5 – Played off the front foot with a string of good interceptions for a solid first half. He had a tougher second half in which he ultimately couldn’t deal with the barrage of crosses.

Rhys Bennett – 5.5 – Was shaky on the ball early on with pressure from Chelsea causing a panic, but settled into the game with solid old-school defense in the first half. But Chelsea’s relentless attacks in the second saw him unable to keep up with the pace and movement.

Bjorn Hardley – 6 – A strong first half, he didn’t give anything in defense and supported well in attack. Chelsea’s switch to a three at the back allowed them to overload his right side, leaving him very exposed.

Charlie Savage – 6 – Like much of the team, he had a better first half than the second, coming forward and providing some incisive passes, but couldn’t control them in the second half.

Toby Collyer – 7 – A very solid game from the heart of midfield, he cleaned up the game very well with a series of tackles and kept possession. He possibly could have been a little more expansive on his passes at times to open up the play.

Omari Forson – 5.5 – Had some moments of intricate passing play but didn’t get involved enough as much of United’s best play came from the opposite end.

Kobbie Mainoo – 9 – A phenomenal performance in the first half before exiting for an unknown reason. He deflected and ran down the left channel to great effect, going behind often and his control and strength in the box opened up space and created the opening goal.

Isak Hansen-Aaroen – 7.5 – A very well taken goal and his exchange with Mainoo was excellent in the first half, a link that failed in the second. He was still in a lot of good positions, but sometimes he just lacked the pace to run freely.

Shola Shoretire – 7 – Had surgery at number nine in the first half and looked completely out of place. She dropped to the 10-man role in the second half and saw a little more involvement, but to little effect until injury time, where she sprang to life to jump into the box and score twice to save a point.

substitutes

Charlie McNeill – 6 – Had a spirited first 10 minutes, scoring an offside goal and creating a couple more chances, but after a heavy hit that sent him into the stands, he struggled to get back in.

Tom Huddlestone – 6 – Used his commanding stature to win possession several times, but was unable to turn around Chelsea’s control of midfield.

Sam Murray – 5.5 – An almost impossible task against Chelsea’s right-wing strength in the second half and, unsurprisingly, he froze just seconds after entering the pitch for Chelsea to score their third.
