Arthur Melo determined to fight for his place at Anfield

Liverpool news: The Reds have signed Arthur Melo on a season-long loan from Juventus during the deadline day of the summer transfer window.

However, the Brazilian international has struggled with injuries since making the switch. He has yet to appear in a Premier League game for the Reds.

Arthur suffered a thigh injury earlier this month. The 26-year-old midfielder is expected to miss the next 3-4 months of action.

His injury has left Jurgen Klopp without options in midfield. Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Curtis Jones are other veteran midfielders currently on Liverpool’s injury table.

Reds midfielder Arthur Melo vowed to come back stronger from his latest injury setback.

He recently shared a post on his social media account, he said (via Fabrizio Romano): “Now is the time to keep my head up and join forces with my family and do whatever I need to with my team to make sure that come back stronger as soon as possible. No obstacle will stop me from progressing in my career and I have a great ambition to show what I can do on the pitch.

“In the meantime, I will continue to support my Liverpool team-mates and my beloved Brazil team. Thanks for all the messages of support!”

His injury has been a serious blow to Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp could be looking to add a new midfielder to his squad during the January transfer window. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Joao Gomes and Konrad Laimer are among the midfielders linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks.
