Liverpool and Man City’s net spend compared after Klopp’s comments

Jurgen Klopp has made a public statement about the difficulties Liverpool face when having to compete financially with the likes of Manchester City and has led to a comparison of the spending of the two clubs over the last six years.

As reported by Sky Sports News: ‘Liverpool net spend since 2016 – £????????????.???????? – Man City net spend since 2016 – £????????????????’.

Rival fans will point to transfer fees for the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker, Naby Keita and Darwin Nunez, but we face the challenges of only being able to actually spend what we renew, unlike the league champions.

The net spending figure is one that our fans like to use, but it shows that we need to be more careful with money, not taking into account the huge salaries that Pep Guardiola can offer his players.
