Robertson on what Liverpool ‘have been lacking this season’

Liverpool and Manchester City will have the eyes of the world watching as both teams are set to meet this weekend and Andy Robertson has been anticipating what the Reds need to do to claim victory.

Speaking to BBC Sport, the Scotland captain said: “It’s a massive game, of course it is. We need to try to regain consistency in our game, in our performances. That’s what we’ve been missing this season.

“Obviously a game against City will always be difficult, they are flying this season, playing very well, it is difficult to play against them. But we at our best can always compete.

“We have to be like this. If we are anything below that, it will be a difficult afternoon, but if we are at our best, we know we can cause problems for any team. That’s what we have to aim for.”

Consistency is huge for any team, but given the on-and-off nature of this campaign so far, Jurgen Klopp is hoping his team can follow up a big win in Scotland with a positive result at Anfield.

There will be a huge class difference between the Glasgow based team and the team that are the reigning champions of England, but there should be no change in our chances of securing a win.

The return of our No. 26 from injury will be a boost for the team and hopefully provide enough encouragement for us to walk off the field with all three points.

Our home crowd will be waiting, and while they may not be the pre-game favorites, we all know the difference our supporters can make.

Despite a lot of negativity surrounding recent performances, a win against Pep Guardiola’s side will help restore confidence in our star-studded side.
