Chelsea can terminate Juventus loanee Denis Zakaria’s contract

English Premier League club Chelsea are considering terminating Juventus loan deal Denis Zakaria as soon as next January.

Denis Zakaria joined the Servette academy at a very young age. He later graduated from the Servette academy and was promoted to the main team.

Zakaria played one season at Servette before joining another Swiss team, Young Boys. The defensive midfielder spent two seasons at Young Boys before joining Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach in 2017. At Gladbach, he soon established himself as one of the team’s mainstays.

Zakaria made 125 appearances for the club and scored 11 goals during his time in Germany. Finally, in the last winter transfer window, the defensive midfielder joined Serie A giants Juventus on a four-and-a-half-year deal.

In the short time he spent in Turin, Zakaria failed to impress the Bianconeri leadership. So when a loan offer from Chelsea came through on deadline day, they didn’t think twice about loaning out the Swiss midfielder.

Chelsea have also been given a £30m purchase option which they can activate at the end of the season. However, right now this seems like a distant dream.

Shortly after Zakaria’s arrival, the Chelsea management sacked German manager Thomas Tucehel.

Chelsea then hired British manager Graham Potter from Brighton to replace their Champions League-winning manager. And since then, Zakaria hasn’t even made a single appearance for his new club.

Things are so bad that Switzerland International aren’t even in Chelsea’s squad of the day. And now, a report from Football Italia suggests the Blues are considering terminating Juventus loan deal Denis Zakaria in the next transfer window.

Now Juventus itself is not going through a good stage. They have only won three of their first nine Serie-A games. The Bianconederi are fighting for eighth place in Serie-A.

They desperately need some new faces on their squad. However, that means it has to be Zakaria who has so far been a flop in the Bianconeri jersey.

Zakaria has a big contract with Juventus and if Chelsea decides to terminate his contract, he will surely have to return to Turin, something that the Juventus management clearly does not want.

Whats Next?

Juventus will face Torino in their next game and hope to return to winning ways.
