Cristiano Ronaldo will once again lead the Manchester United line tonight as they continue their Europa League odyssey against Omonia Nicosia.
Elsewhere, Tyrell Malacia is called up ahead of Luke Shaw, but the rest of the defense remains unchanged, with David de Gea in goal and Diogo Dalot, Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez filling the other positions.
In midfield, Christian Eriksen is rested, with Casemiro teaming up with Fred, as he does with the Brazil team.
Bruno Fernandes is the captain and returns to play in the 8/10 hybrid role.
Against expectations, Jadon Sancho is not remembered, with Marcus Rashford and Antony playing on the wings.
Sancho will be on the bench along with two goalkeepers: Martin Dubravka and Tom Heaton, Raphael Varane, Shaw, Eriksen, Scott McTominay, Zidane Iqbal, Anthony Elanga, Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Pellistri.
McTominay’s absence, despite the fact that he is ineligible for Sunday’s Premier League tie with Newcastle due to suspension, comes as a surprise.
Charlie McNeill did not make the bench, meaning there are no strikers available in case Ronaldo needs to be replaced.
Once again, Erik ten Hag has been true to his word to field a strong team.
The only changes from the starting eleven that beat Everton on Sunday are Fred for Eriksen and Malacia for Shaw.
In Fred’s case, it could be about giving him minutes, especially given McTominay’s penalty. For Malacia, it may be more about giving him a confidence boost and keeping the pressure on Shaw.
Kick-off at Old Trafford is at 8pm.
