English Premier League giants Manchester City have recently made inquiries about Slovakian international Stanislav Lobotka, who currently plays for Napoli.
Stanislav Lobotka joined the AS Trencin academy at a very young age. He later graduated from the Trencin academy and was promoted to the senior team.
Lobotka then spent two seasons at Trencin before joining Ajax on loan. Lobotka played one year for the Dutch giants and then returned to his parent team and played another year for them.
The Slovak midfielder joined Danish club Nordjaelland in 2015. He spent two seasons in Denmark before moving to Spanish club Celta Vigo. At Celta Lobotka he was one of the team’s main players and made regular appearances in La Liga. Finally, in 2020, Serie A giants Napoli signed the Slovakian midfielder from the Spanish national team.
Manchester City keep an eye on Lobotka
Lobotka gradually became one of the mainstays of the Napoli team and is now considered one of the greatest assets in the squad.
The midfielder has appeared in every Napoli match this season and has been one of the most consistent players for them. His consistency has already made him a target for many big clubs.
According to a recent report by the Daily and Sunday Express, defending English Premier League champions Manchester City have revealed their interest in Stanislav Lobotka.
Manchester City currently has one of the best squads in the world. They have multiple quality players at each position. However, the Citizens could lose two midfielders in the next window.
Club captain Ilkay Gundogan is in the final year of his contract. There have been no renewal talks with him so far. Another midfielder, Bernardo Silva, offers to sign for Spain. He is expected to do so next summer.
So Manchester City are already looking at multiple midfielders who can make it to the Etihad next summer.
Now Napoli have given Lobotka a new contract extension. But the midfielder’s agent doesn’t like the terms of the contract. Therefore, they are looking at many other clubs.
Apart from Manchester City, the midfielder has also been contacted by Chelsea. With both EPL giants interested in the midfielder, we can expect a transfer war for Lobotka in the next transfer window.
