Max Allegri has been losing fans with each weak performance, but Juventus vice president Pavel Nedved had never been a fan of the Italian coach anyway.
In fact, the Czech was one of the catalysts (along with former sports director Fabio Paratici) of the coach’s dismissal in 2019.
Nonetheless, club president Andrea Agnelli decided to bring the Livorno native back two years later, awarding him a lucrative long-term contract.
Despite the miserable results and the old woman’s pitiful displays, the patron continues to back the strategist under fire and refuses to take up the axe.
However, this has apparently not stopped Nedved from plotting against Allegri, despite soft words spoken in public.
Former Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli claims the Czech legend tried to replace Max with current Primavera manager Paolo Montero.
The Uruguayan bravely served the Bianconeri during his time as a player, residing in Turin between 1996 and 2005. He returned to the club last summer to take charge of the Under-19s.
“A few weeks ago, the alternative to Allegri was Nedved’s idea to put Montero in charge and try to recharge the team,” Cobolli Gigli said in an interview with TMW via JuventusNews24.
“But the company is fine with this situation, so let’s trust their assessment.
“They did a wrong transfer campaign with unsafe used cars like Pogba and Di Maria. They were supposed to relaunch the team, but so far they have been a flop.
“[Milan general director] Maldini and [Napoli sporting director] Giuntoli finds useful and talented players at reasonable prices, whereas we have never done such a thing. Our misfortunes began when we took Ronaldo for important figures”.
