Klopp refuses to answer Didi Hamann question ahead of Rangers

Jurgen Klopp was not too amused when he was asked a question about Didi Hamann’s opinion of his Liverpool team.

One journalist cited the former midfielder’s comments about the Reds needing to “be a spark” after the 3-2 loss to Arsenal, inspiring the former Mainz manager to ask for a consultation with different wording.

“Oh great, it’s a fantastic font. Highly respected everywhere,” the German replied to the reporter in question. “In fact, I think that Didi Hamann does not deserve that you use her phrase to ask me a question. Do me a favor and ask your own question.

The Merseysiders found themselves on the wrong end of a pair of bad refereeing calls in north London with the spotlight shining on an apparent handball by Gabriel and the Gunners’ first goal.

Hamann isn’t everyone’s cup of tea at Anfield lately and understandably given his sometimes controversial shots.

For those who have forgotten, it was the German who boldly claimed that playmaker Thiago Alcantara “is one of the most overrated players in European football”, an objectively laughable version of one of the most naturally talented midfielders in world football.

It’s comments like that that have likely brought down the expert on Klopp’s estimates and rightly so, if that’s the case.
