Grimaldo or Parisi? Juventus to invest in a new left-back this JanuaryJuvefc.com

As many of us had already anticipated, Juventus are having some problems in the left back department.

For one reason or another, the management neglected the problem that has been haunting the club for the last few years.

The declining Alex Sandro is no longer fit for a regular job at a top club, and Mattia De Sciglio is not an exciting alternative.

As if that were not enough, the latter has suffered an injury against Maccabi Haifa, leaving the Brazilian as the only option for the role.

So according to TuttoJuve, the club have decided to rectify the situation by investing in a new left-back from January rather than wait until the summer transfer window.

The source mentions two possible solutions. The first is Alex Grimaldo, who will leave Benfica once his contract expires at the end of the season.

The source assures that it could be available at a reduced price in winter (between 3 or 4 million euros). However, the Spaniard will wait for a contract that sees him collect 4 million per season.

On the other hand, Fabiano Parisi from Empoli would charge a higher transfer fee (around 10 million) but his salary would be significantly lower, so the whole operation would cost less overall.

Juve FC says

Parisi is definitely a promising up-and-comer, but Juventus already have their fair share of young left-backs on the books. Of course, we are talking about the loaned Luca Pellegrini and Andrea Cambiaso.

For the time being, the Bianconeri must invest in a finished item like Grimaldo, who can be an asset to the starting line-up right away.
