Chelsea Manager Tips Reece James to Become Club Legend

Chelsea manager Graham Potter has praised Reece James after the England international shone for the Blues in their Champions League victory over AC Milan.

Chelsea cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over Milan in their third game of the 22/23 Champions League campaign. The Blues entered the match with a loss and a draw in their opening group stage matches.

But they won all three points against the Italian team to move into second place in Group E. Chelsea now have four points from their opening three games in the 22/23 CL. They trail only RB Salzburg, who have five points, in their group.

Milan, who were beaten by Chelsea, sit in third place with four points, while Dinamo Zagreb languishes bottom on three points.

Speaking after the game, Potter was full of praise for James, who was impressive for Chelsea against Milan.

Potter said James’ potential is beyond heaven and he tipped the 22-year-old to become a club legend. “I could play any game in the world, it’s tremendous. My job is to help him reach his potential because his potential is beyond heaven,” Potter said.

“We love him. He is so important to us. My job is to help him reach his potential, and his potential is that he can be a Chelsea legend.”

Meanwhile, against Milan, Chelsea opened the scoring in the 24th minute. Wesley Fofana found the back of the net after a fight in the box following a Chelsea corner.

The Blues made it 2-0 in the 56th minute when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finished off a James cross from the right. James then scored in the 62nd minute as Chelsea established a three-goal cushion.

Meanwhile, Chelsea host Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge in their next match, in the Premier League. They come into the game following their 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace in their previous game in the English top flight.

The Blues currently sit fifth in the Premier League points table with 13 points from their opening seven games. They have won four of them, drawn one and lost two.

Chelsea are eight points behind league leaders Arsenal, who have played one more game. West Londoners will be attempting to cover lost ground in the Premier League race.
