Despite its current status, Juventus remains one of the biggest clubs in the world, with the vast majority of footballers having the honor of wearing the famous black and white jersey.
Although it took Nicola Legrottaglie a while to appreciate the opportunity, he now preaches the importance of this club.
The retired defender initially joined the Bianconeri in 2003 after an impressive spell at Chievo. However, he still didn’t have the right mindset needed at a top club and eventually got lost in the shuffle.
After two assignments in Bologna and Siena, the central defender returned to Turin in 2006 in the midst of the Calciopoli scandal. Due to the departure of a large number of top players, he was able to take advantage of the opportunity and show that he is a reliable veteran on defense.
Legrottaglie formed a strong partnership with Giorgio Chiellini over the next four years, explaining why he remains grateful for the opportunity to play for Juventus.
“Juve was a milestone in my career, as well as in my personal life. Those who play in this club will be remembered forever”, said the 45-year-old coach in an interview with Gianlucadimarzio.com via ilBianconero.
“It is a club that leaves its mark in this world. I feel lucky because I stayed in Turin for 7 years. and I have lived several experiences.
“I took several hits before I really understood what the Juventus shirt really means. When I recovered the love and appreciation of the public and the environment, everything became easier.
“There are principles to follow and Juve teaches you these things.”
