“For sure” – Anthony Martial explains how recent performance can launch his season – Man United News And Transfer News

Anthony Martial scored a brace in the Manchester Derby yesterday but insists he would rather take the win.

The Frenchman came on after the hour mark to add to the score after United’s first-half capitulation had them down 4-0.

Two goals after Antony’s second Premier League goal finally made it 6-3 for Man City.

Speaking to Canal+ after the match, Martial said the following:

“Of course, I would have preferred not to score and win this game.

“But it’s always good to get back on the grass and score.

“We are really frustrated. That’s not what we wanted to do, but this result is the [that happened] and we are going to give everything to return to the next game.

“We started the game very badly and then they were very efficient with the chances they had. It’s very complicated but that’s the way it is and we’re going to do everything possible to be ready for the next game”.

Having enjoyed a fantastic pre-season, Martial has many United fans optimistic about the striker’s chances of completing a remarkable turnaround in his Old Trafford career.

Five months ago he had more than enough needs and not even at the club, having left on loan to Sevilla.

Unfortunately, the first signs of a resurgence were interrupted by injury problems, and as a result, Martial has yet to start a game for United.

His performance in the derby is hopefully a sign that he will soon fix that and Martial is optimistic about making the most of the season with Erik ten Hag:

“I’m doing the best I can to get back on my feet so I can come back ready and fit to help the team.”

Reminding fans of the impact he can have, Martial will surely have added to the clamor for him to return to the field as soon as possible.
