“We didn’t imagine such big impact” – Allegri praises MilikJuvefc.com

Last summer, Juventus rushed into the market for a new striker. Eventually Arkadiusz Milik turned out to be the chosen one.

But while the Pole’s arrival was greeted with some skepticism, he quickly won over the fans with a series of impressive displays.

On Sunday, Juventus hosted Bologna at the Allianz Stadium in a match that saw Milik return from a one-match suspension.

The 28-year-old formed a surprising pairing with Dusan Vlahovic, with both men hitting the mark.

While the Old Lady emerged victorious with three unanswered goals, the former Napoli man scored the most formidable goal. He knocked out Lukasz Skorupski with a poisoned left foot.

Naturally, Max Allegri praised the impact of his new striker, although he admitted the club did not expect him to become a mainstay straight away.

“We didn’t imagine such an impact, but Milik is a smart player and we knew it. He can play well with Vlahovic,” the coach said in his post-match interview with DAZN via Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Livorno native also spoke about the importance of returning players.

“Locatelli held on and protected the defense very well. Rabiot has another engine, he went to the shot and played several vertical balls.

“But everyone did well. We walked into the locker room and almost didn’t believe we had won!”
