Will FOX broadcast the World Cup in 4K?

Will FOX broadcast the World Cup in 4K? The good news is that here in the US, FOX Sports has exclusive English broadcast rights for the 2022 World Cup. So all 64 games of the competition air on local FOX or FS1 stations, the company’s main sports channel. Even better news is that all games in the tournament are available in 4K.

Will FOX broadcast the World Cup in 4K?

Here are the specific details on FOX broadcasting the World Cup in 4K:

• All games are broadcast in native 4K UHD HDR • Studio programming is produced in 1080p HDR and broadcast in 4K UHD HDR

The reason the studio programming is native 1080p is because FOX Sports uses augmented reality in their Doha studio. FOX Sports can’t do that in UHD for this World Cup.

UHD is ultra high definition, while HDR is high dynamic range.

For any football fan, watching the sport in 4K makes a huge difference to the viewing experience. The 2018 FIFA World Cup was in 4K HDR, while the 2018 FIFA Women’s World Cup was broadcast in 4K SDR.
