Arsenal prepare £40m transfer bid for star who rejected Man United & Liverpool

Arsenal are reportedly preparing a £40m transfer offer for Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves.

The Portuguese international has put in a world-class performance in his time in the Premier League and has long been linked with a number of bigger clubs.

According to the Daily Express, Arsenal appear to be intensifying their search for Neves after Wolves’ poor start to the season, while Barcelona are also in the running for his signature.

It was previously claimed that Neves turned down offers from Manchester United and Liverpool, so it will be interesting to see where the 25-year-old chooses next.

Wolves will surely try to avoid losing a talent like Neves to Premier League rivals, so that could work in Barcelona’s favor as they look for a long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets.

Arsenal were also linked with the likes of Youri Tielemans and Douglas Luiz over the summer, but Neves would be another good option to strengthen their midfield.

It would surely help the Gunners if they had Champions League football on offer next season, something that has surely held them back on the transfer scoreboard to some extent in recent times.
