“He has nothing to prove”- Potter on Aubameyang

Chelsea news: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the most talented attackers of his generation. He joined Barcelona Blues during the summer window.

The Gabon international previously enjoyed a successful spell in the Premier League with Arsenal between 2018 and 2022. He made 128 EPL appearances during his time at the Emirates Stadium, scoring 68 goals.

Aubameyang shared the 2018-19 Premier League Golden Boot with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. He was also included in the 2019-20 PFA Premier League Team of the Season.

The 33-year-old attacker left the Gunners to sign for Barcelona during the transfer market in January this year. He scored 11 goals in 18 La Liga games for the Blaugrana before returning to the English top flight.

Blues manager Graham Potter has offered his support to Pierre Emerick Aubameyang for his role at the club.

Speaking to the media, he said (via Fabrizio Romano): “He’s a good guy, focused, he wants to play, he wants to score. I am looking forward to working with Pierre. He has nothing to prove to me or anything negative in that sense. He has acted like a great professional and person.”

Aubameyang arrived at Stamford Bridge with Thomas Tuchel on deadline day. However, the Blues sacked the German manager last month, raising questions about Aubameyang’s role at the club.

The 33-year-old attacker has started two UEFA Champions League games for the London outfit since his arrival.

Great things were expected of Christian Pulisic when he joined Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in 2019. However, he struggled to live up to his potential and is currently on the sidelines of the club.
