Jurgen Klopp tells ex-Red it’s ‘too early’ to end playing career after what he’s seen this season

Liverpool’s next clash with Brighton and Hove Albion will mean another meeting between Jurgen Klopp and former favorite Adam Lallana.

The former Mainz manager paid a special tribute to the ex-Red and advised him not to interrupt his playing career following Graham Potter’s departure for Chelsea.

“Before I sign these notes, I want to make a special mention to a member of the Brighton team who always holds a special place in my heart and in this club’s heart as well. Adam Lallana! he wrote the German in his show notes (via liverpoolfc.com).

“I was not at all surprised that while Brighton were waiting for a new head coach, Adam was asked to help with the leadership of the first team.

“Having seen him play this season, my personal opinion is that it is too early for him to be considering stepping away from the locker room. But I was very pleased to see that his qualities as an inspirational and iconic figure were recognized by his current employer.

“Adam is one of the good guys and I’m sure Roberto De Zerbi will discover, as I did in 2015, how valuable he will be in helping a new manager establish himself in England.”

A technically gifted midfield star who was the first to truly understand the demands of coaching during his time at Merseyside, a move to full-time coaching seems inevitable for the Englishman.

Even with his current injury problems, the midfielder still potentially has a few more seasons in the game at the age of 34.

Whatever decision he makes with his future, we wish Lallana nothing but the best of luck and it would be nice to see him return to Liverpool at some point.

It will be nothing but business in the 90 minutes taking place in L4 later today, of course, with the need to close the gap to the top four and league leaders.
