“I want to finish my career at Liverpool”

Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has stated that he hopes to end his career at the club but has not ruled out another move.

The Scotland international has been with the Merseyside club since 2017 in what turned out to be one of the best deals the Reds have done during the Jurgen Klopp era.

Since then, Robertson has won it all with Liverpool and has made 232 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League side, contributing an incredible 8 goals and 55 assists to Klopp’s side.

The left-back has now declared that he wants to retire at Liverpool, but is not ruling out a move to another club close to his heart.

Andy Robertson has been a huge success for Liverpool

“Ideally I want to finish my career at Liverpool, if I can stay at the top of my game throughout my career that’s the path I’m going to take,” Robertson told BT Sport.

However, if at any point Robertson begins to lose his place in Liverpool’s starting eleven, the Scotland international is not ruling out a move to Celtic, whom he considers a dream.

“I always dreamed of giving my best years to Celtic,” Robertson said of growing up as a Hoops fan and stated of a future move to Celtic Park:

“I don’t want to go as a 34/35 year old guy that my uncles are starting to hate because I can’t move anymore, so look, time will tell.”

It’s clear from the interview that Robertson loves both clubs, but the Scottish star is likely to play for Celtic before his career is over.

The 28-year-old’s face lights up when he talks about Celtic Park and it is clear that it is a dream for the Scotsman.

However, in saying that, if the left-back manages to continue to perform at a high level well into his thirties, there is also a chance he could retire at Anfield.
