Juventus can reduce their selling price of Arthur

Serie A giants Juventus are thinking of lowering their asking price to get rid of Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo permanently next summer.

Emerging from Gremio’s youth setup, Arthur Melo began his senior team career with the Brazilian club. It took a while for him to settle into the Guild setup. But then the midfielder played a fundamental role in the Brazilian club’s victory in the Copa Libertadores.

Arthur began to give consistent performances with the Brazilian team, which made him a great prospect in the transfer market. He ultimately decided to join Spanish giants Barcelona in 2018. Despite having a good start to his career at Barca, Arthur failed to reach his potential and was sold to Juventus in 2020.

He spent the next two years in Turin, but his performance never improved and he was not consistent enough to be called a key player for the Bianconeri.

Juventus want to sell Arthur at a reduced price

Juventus may reduce Arthur’s sale price

Since the beginning of the summer, Juventus were looking to transfer Arthur to another team. Finally, on deadline day, Liverpool decided to sign the midfielder on loan and paid the Turin club a sum of £3.9m.

However, since arriving at Liverpool, Arthur reportedly failed to impress German manager Jurgen Klopp in the early sessions. Things were so bad that there were reports of Liverpool terminating his loan in the same winter.

Arthur later played for Liverpool’s reserve team in a 1–0 win over Leicester City to regain fitness. This match was also the Brazilian’s first 90 minutes in over 129 days.

Arthur has been motivated to return to his best form to cement his place in the Liverpool line-up. The Brazilian midfielder has no intention of returning to Turin and wants to become a permanent Liverpool player.

Interestingly, Juventus also want the same. The Bianconeri board knows that Arthur does not fit his style of play and wants to get rid of him permanently.

Now, according to a recent report from Calciomercato, Juventus are ready to sell the midfielder at a reduced price.

Earlier, it was revealed that Liverpool will get a chance to secure the Brazilian midfielder on a permanent transfer if he decides to pay a reported £32.4million to the Bianconeri. But looking at Arthur’s current form, Juventus are sure Liverpool will not try to buy the midfield at this price. So they decided to lower their order.
