Lionel Messi: Argentine superstar Lionel Messi has admitted that he would have liked to have more fun with his current Paris Saint-Germain teammate Neymar in Barcelona.
Lionel Messi joined Barcelona at a very young age and then rose through the ranks to become the greatest player of all time to wear the Blaugrana shirt.
In his time at Barcelona, the Argentine was part of many legendary striker line-ups but none as good as the famous ‘MSN’. The MSN trio was a very unique partnership that included players from all three of South America’s traditional rivals. With all of them at their peak, MSN dominated all of Europe. They won the multiple league titles of the 2014/15 Champions League and broke many goalscoring records. Everything came to an end when Neymar decided to leave the Blaugrana and signed for Paris Saint-Germain.
Lionel Messi: Messi wanted to spend more time with Neymar in Barcelona
Brazilian star Neymar fulfilled his dream of playing with his idol, Lionel Messi, when he decided to sign for FC Barcelona in 2013.
The duo soon became great friends and Neymar established himself as one of the superstars in the world of football. However, Neymar decided to end his association and move to Paris Saint-Germain and manage his own team, which Messi clearly did not want.
So finally in a recent interview with TUDN Mexico, Lionel Messi spoke about the same thing, “Neymar and I know each other by heart, we spend a lot of time in Barcelona”.
And he continued: “I would have liked to have more fun with him in Barcelona, but life brought us together in Paris.”
After Neymar’s departure from Barcelona, the Catalan giants lost their dominance and were never able to recapture their glory days. Lionel Messi had to leave Barcelona last season when the Blaugrana didn’t sign him.
Messi then rekindled his friendship with Neymar and joined French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain on a 2-year contract. He then had a very poor start to his career at PSG last season. PSG were then eliminated from the Champions League by Real Madrid in the round of 16.

This time, Lionel Messi has had a strong start to the season. The Argentine has already scored five goals and given eight assists in these first games.
Messi currently plays for his Argentina national team and scored a brace in his last game against Honduras.
