Victor Lindelof could leave Manchester United after interest from Galatasaray.
The Super Lig giants are keen to sign a defender and have identified the Swedish international as their main target, according to Turkish outlet A Spor.
The report states that Lindelof is expected to leave Old Trafford following his fall down the pecking order at the club.
He has yet to appear in a single Premier League game so far this season, with 90 minutes against Espanyol in the Europa League group stage his only contribution on the pitch so far.
It’s worth noting that the Swede has struggled with a few injuries earlier in the season, putting him out of contention for several teams on the matchday.
However, it’s hard to see how Lindelof would displace Raphael Varane or Lisandro Martinez, as the two made a fantastic pairing at the back.
Even Harry Maguire, despite his recent poor form, is probably ahead of Lindelof in the calculus.
So a January move could well be on the cards for the former Benfica man, although terms would likely be a sticking point.
The Galatasary are reportedly interested in borrowing Lindelof, which would not be ideal for the Red Devils.
Lindelof, who joined United for €35m in 2017, may not be the first choice, but with a schedule as hectic as this season’s, it would be hard to imagine Erik ten Hag sanctioning a move without securing a suitable replacement. .
Losing Lindelof would leave Man United with just three top centre-backs, which is far from ideal when games start to get intense and fast-paced.
If anything is ironed out, Lindelof will have Juan Mata to greet him in Turkey, as the Spaniard signed for Galatasary on a free transfer earlier this month.
