Konrad Laimer has admitted he has ‘always’ been a Liverpool fan following a reported late attempt in the Reds’ summer window to acquire his services.
A move fell through and the Merseysiders settled for the loan signing of Arthur Melo on transfer deadline day to bolster their mid-park options.
“I am generally a football fanatic. In general, I like to watch the Premier League. I’ve always been a Liverpool fan,” the 25-year-old told Servus TV (via Bild).
Such comments will no doubt have reached the inner sanctum of the Anfield-based team’s recruitment team ahead of the January window where a possible second transfer attempt may occur.

Liverpool are certainly no stranger to a winter window offer and may be tempted to resort to the window once again amid Bundesliga side Bayern Munich’s interest in the Austrian.
A long-term injury that will keep Laimer out until early January may prove to be something of a hurdle, as Jurgen Klopp is likely to be uninterested in the prospect of making the match easier on his side.
Still, at 25 years of age, the midfielder would hardly be a short-term solution and arguably fits perfectly within the ideal age profile favored by Julian Ward and his team.
